Update COVID19, 26th of Mach

Isn’t it interesting how confusing this all is but on the other hand it is so clear if we just use a bit of common sense in this unprecedented circumstances:

The directive is, that massage therapists should close their business but the advice of different associations seems to vary…again confusing. The same applies to other allied health practitioners.

The message I would like to get out to you, my loyal clients, is the following:

Do the right thing in staying at home if you don’t necessarily need to go out for work or for essential shopping.

We, at the clinic in Terrey Hills have decided together, already before the official announcement, to temporarily close the clinic for therapists NOT for doctors of course, until further notice. Staying away from others as much as possible is the most responsible behaviour at the moment. How well we do this, will determine how long it will last.

Of course, if you are urgently in need of treatment and you don’t know what to do, there is probably more that you can do yourself than you think. I am here on the phone to take your calls (0423 464 491) and I am also happy to Zoom or Skype with you to assist you with your self-treatment, advice and guidance. Not perfect, I agree, but what is the alternative?

Please stay calm and help us all to fight the virus by following the rules of common sense and of course the scientists and medial professionals advice!

Thank you so much for your understanding and patience during these difficult times!

We will make it - TOGETHER!

Love to all,

Martina

Important Information Concerning COVID19

Following the announcements of the Federal Government and the Australian Governments’ Chief Medical Officer, I would like to pass on the following information:

A couple of days ago the government announced the following measures that need consideration:

1) Any person (whether an Australian citizen or not) that enters Australia now has to go on to a 14-day, self-isolation period.

What this means for you and our clinic:

If anyone has travelled overseas and returned to Australia from Sunday evening (15/03/2020), they must not attend the practice for 14 days from that date and we will continue to advise that patients please don’t use the clinic if they are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose and shortness of breath.

2) As a nation, we are not moving into enforced isolation/shut down so far, but we need to take a common sense approach to our social interactions.

The clinic will continue to operate and reinforce the following:

•The face hole will be covered with a gel cushion that can be sanitised after each treatment and a single use paper. Also, the treatment bench will be sanitised after each patient.

•The bathrooms have single use paper hand towels and soap.

•Reinforcement of usual hygiene procedures, including wiping down of door handles and surfaces, and frequent use of washing hands.

•The entrance of the clinic for you, my clients, will be on the right side of the building (a sliding door) and you just need to follow the signage. This ensures that you do not have to walk through the doctors surgery which won’t expose you to other patients in the clinic. The waiting area is in front of the treatment room for you from now on.

I would also like to ask you to please wash your hands when you come into the clinic. In addition I provide a clinical grade hand sanitiser for all of us.

Please stay healthy and safe and don’t hesitate to call me on 0423 464 491 if you have any questions.

Your safety, health and wellbeing is my priority!

  Yours,

  Martina
